Deleting files from the Backup Server
- Open the SmartPick
software. Switch to the Restore tab on SmartPick's main screen
(located in the middle of the page on the Left.)
- Right click on the
Desktop icon in the left panel of the Backup Client window and select
“Get Volume List from The Server”.
The Backup Client will now connect to the SmartPick Backup Server
and get the Volumes (local and network drives) that were backed up.
- Right click on each
Drive letter (or the Drive where the files/directories you need to delete resides) and click
on “Get File List From The Server”.
- Next, while still on
the Restore tab, go into Delete Files mode by depressing the large Red
X, just below and to the right of the file tabs.
- Use the delete
screen's explorer-like interface to locate the file, file folder, or
directory you wish to delete from the Backup Server, and click in the
box next to these files. Make sure that you only select the
files, file folders, or directories you wish to delete, as they will not
be retrievable from the Backup Server once the delete operation is
complete!
- Then depress the
Delete Files Now button, (on the right side of the screen in the
middle.) Confirm that you wish to delete these files by selecting
YES, and all selected files will then be erased from the backup server,
immediately freeing up space on your account.
