SmartFiler Disk Appliance

The SmartFiler Disk Appliance is designed for a Small Office or Home Office (SOHO) that is using a backup application (such as Retrospect, Backup Exec) to backup its data to an external disk.  By using SmartFiler Disk Appliance solution to backup data, instead of a USB or network attached disk, the SOHO user can get a secure and reliable data backup onsite as well as a second copy offsite.

When an Onsite SmartFiler Disk Appliance is paired with an Offsite SmartFiler Disk Appliance they create a secure, encrypted data tunnel between them.  Any data stored on the Onsite SmartFiler Disk Appliance is automatically copied to the Offsite SmartFiler Disk Appliance according to a time schedule you specify.  It is that simple!

The SmartFiler Disk Appliance is not intended to replace your Backup Application.  It is designed to work with your Backup Application by providing secure onsite and offsite data storage devices.  If you want to replace your cumbersome backup application with a simple appliance solution,  look at the SmartFiler Backup Appliance that can back up all the data on your network without any need to install and configure any backup application on your servers and desktops. 

The SmartFiler Disk Appliances are available in capacity up to 500GB. For an automated offsite storage of your backup data you will need two SmartFiler Disk Appliances, one configured as Onsite and the other configured as Offsite.
